Obituary for Joan Marie "Jo" Klysen

Joan Marie "Jo"  Klysen
Our loving Jo went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Joan Marie Gorecki Klysen was born August 11, 1945 in Marshall, Minnesota the daughter of Clarence Peter Gorecki and Lois Pauline Pesch Gorecki. She graduated high school from Minneota, Minnesota in 1963. She married Joe Klysen and they farmed north of her home town until they moved to Texas until 1977. She held a dental assistant certificate and later worked in the health care industry for over 20 years. She was a beloved member of the Palo Pinto County Baptist Church in Santo and touched many lives with her encouraging words and sweet smile. She was passionate about her rodeo photography and was a very talented artist. Her greatest joys were her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter and will be missed by her family and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband Joe Klysen and her grandparents, Peter and Constance Gorecki and Wayne and Marie Pesch.

She is survived by her husband Charlie Mayes of Santo; her children, Kim Sparks of Athens and her fiancé Paul Burkham of Red Oak, Scott Klysen of Malakoff, Kelly Forester of Athens, Raymond Mayes of Oklahoma, Julie Ritchson of Oklahoma, Clint Mayes of Texas; her mother Lois Chlebecek of Ghent, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Kolton Sparks, Kane Klysen and fiancé Robyn Corshia, Payton Klysen, Paige Forester, Brooke Forester, Delaynia Mayes, Mackenzie Mayes, Rylie Mayes, Rusty Ritchson; one great grandchild Brylee Lynn Fortner and three brothers, Robert and Kathy Gorecki of Ghent, Minnesota, Dean and Sue Gorecki of Minneota, Minnesota, Don and Terri Gorecki of Taunton, Minnesota, one sister; Jean Diede of Athens, Texas and one step sister Pat Cunningham of Marshall, Minnesota; two aunts, Ruth VanHyfte of Porter, Minnesota and Mavis Verschlde of Ivanhoe, Minnesota; one uncle Gene Pesch of Bemidji, Minnesota; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special welsch corgi named Boston.
