Athens –Funeral Services for Miguel “Mike” Leon, 41, of Athens are scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Sergio Tinoco officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Mr. Leon passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.

Miguel Angel Leon was born July 21, 1974 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico the son of Ramon Leon and Alicia Morales. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Athens. He was an incredibly thoughtful man who had a heart for making people feel special with his constant outpouring of generosity. He was also an avid sports fan who loved watching football, especially the San Francisco 49ers. Miguel was a loving husband, son, grandson, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved.

He was preceded in death by his father Ramon Leon.

He is survived by his wife Sofia Leon of Athens; mother, Alicia Hall and husband Phillip of Athens; grandfather Faustino Morales of Athens; two sons, Michael Leon and Carlos Rojas both of Athens; one daughter Amanda Rojas of Athens; four brothers, Julio Leon and wife Manuela of Athens, Israel Leon and wife Anita of Athens, Ramon Leon of Tyler, Juan Sanchez; three sisters, Rosa Leon of Austin, Teresa Leon of Austin, Virginia Leon of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Julio Leon, Victor Morales, Ulysses Galvan, Tilo Galvan, Humberto Serrano, and Sosteles Morales. Honorary Pallbearers will be Abel Morales, Ramon Leon and Juan Sanchez.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
