Obituary for John Wilson Tucker III

The memorial service for John Wilson Tucker III, 67, of Tyler is scheduled for 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, TX.

Mr. Tucker passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 in Tyler.

John was born on November 5, 1948 in Dallas, TX son of John Wilson Tucker II and Ruth Thomson Tucker. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1973 as a Staff Sergeant. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Roslynne “Rusty” Gayle Tucker. John loved to travel to places like Jamaica, Vegas, New York, and Mexico. He was known as “Papa John” and will be missed by everyone he knew and loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his sister Candace Goldberg.

He is survived by his son Daniel Sanford and wife Dana Lynn of Malakoff, daughter Traci Pfeil and husband Ricky of Bryan, TX, brothers Wallace “Butch” Tucker of Tyler and Bret Tucker and wife Barbie of Cushing, 5 grandchildren Jamey Barina, Aimee and Bryant Johnson, Kacey and Danny Gonzalez, Cody Pfeil and Kevin Pfeil, 13 great grandchildren LaBryant, Jasmine, Chassidee, Caidence, Kendall, Samantha, Jaylynn, Jordan, Nevaeh, Deavyn, Kailey, Kolton, and Maddie, several nephews, a niece, and a special friend MaryAnn Crowley.
