Payne Springs - Funeral services for Jimmy Reynolds, 77, of Payne Springs will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, October 29, 2016 at Payne Springs Methodist Church with Rev. David Diller officiating. Interment will follow at Payne Springs Cemetery and will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Reynolds went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 27, 2016 in the company of his loving family.

Jimmy Reynolds was born September 16, 1939 in Malakoff, Texas the son of Walter Reynolds and Julia Pelham Reynolds. Jimmy spent 20 years as an Agriculture Inspector and Engineer for the State of Texas after earning his Bachelors of Engineering from Texas Tech University. After his retirement from the State he invested in rental property. The many community positions Jimmy held included Mayor of Eustace, Eustace School Board, Eustace Bicentennial Chairman, Eustace Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Henderson County Fair Board, Henderson County Wildlife Committee, Payne Springs Water Board and a member of the Henderson County Fire District #2. His few hobbies other than hard work were hunting, travelling, and fixing up old cars. Those who knew him best knew he loved watching his granddaughter and all her activities. Mr. Reynolds was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Rebecca Gartrell.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Erma Reynolds of Payne Springs; two daughters, Pam Allen and husband Troy of Eustace, Polly Perkins and husband Forrest of Mabank; one special granddaughter Haley “Comet” Allen; two brothers Danny Reynolds of Eustace, Walter Lee Reynolds and wife Beverly of Payne Springs; sister Judy Reynolds of Eustace; brother in law Ronnie Gartrell of Payne Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his loving caregivers, Melissa Melin, Rebecca King, Leslie Mullin and Cedar Lake Hospice.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 30, 2016 from 5 – 7:00 P.M. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
