Athens TX- Mary Porter, A long-time resident of Athens, passed away Saturday, December 24th, 2016. Mary was born October 20, 1945 to George and Stella Cress in Big Stone Gap, VA. Mary moved to Athens in 1987. Mary was employed for many years at First National Bank of Athens. She loved socializing, working in her yard, and traveling. Mary had a smile that lit up any room she walked into. She survived by her son, Jon Baker of Athens; her grandson Colton Baker; her sister Judy Bishop of Big Stone Gap, VA; her brother George Cress of Kingsport TN, as well as many other family and friends.
The viewing will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. December 29, 2016 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
