Condolence: Charlie & Shirley's Family,
I just read of your loss.
Charlie and Shirley are deat people. The world is a much sadder pkace without them.
For many years at AHS, I saw Shirley frequently and Charlie almost daily. He is such a dear, dear man; a true gentleman; a man of integrity and character; and a friend who always uplifted your spirit.
Reunited, I know they are watching over each of you.
Remembering you in prayer,
Ailsa and Guy Andetson, Jr.

Condolence: Very few people are born to be teachers. Mr. Sanders was born to be a teacher. He cared about his students. With Sympathy. Just a poor boy. Edward Payne - AHS 1974

Condolence: Loved Charlie and Shirley, they were my neighbors all my life. They were the best people you could ever meet and Charlie always kept a smile on your face. I remember his beloved Tinker Bell, and the beautiful Siamese cats that always slept on our back porch. He always said it was quieter at our house! I have missed you since you moved and will miss you always. RIP my old friend, love you forever!

Condolence: When I first began teaching at Athens High School, I met Charlie, who was very quick to offer help for a new teacher and always had a pleasant smile. He treasured his students and always strived to make certain they were given every chance to learn.
He was also quick to donate money, for any student in need.
Years later, during the last months of my mother’s time at Oakwood, I visited her often and frequently encountered Charlie. Even with his health issues at the time, he always had a smile, nice comments, and asked about my family members.
This good man will be greatly missed, and I consider myself to have been lucky to call him a friend.
