Funeral services for Violet Holley, 95, of Carroll Springs, are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Carroll Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Waddell officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Springs Cemetery.
Violet passed away October 5, 2017 in Athens.
Violet Huntington Landis Holley was born on February 19, 1922 in Murchison, Texas the daughter of John Landis and Mattie Burden Landis. A lifelong member and secretary of the Carroll Springs United Methodist Church, she was active in the Carroll Springs community for many years with her husband, Andrew whom she married in 1938. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and working jigsaw puzzles. Violet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all she knew and loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Neal Landis, Guy Landis and Cal Landis; one son Mike Holley and her loving husband of sixty-one years Andrew Holley.
Violet is survived by her son Ron Holley of Montalba; two grandsons, David Holley and wife Patti of Gladstone, Missouri, John Holley and wife Courtney of Canton and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
