Funeral Services for Susie Scott, 53, of Athens are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Faith Church in Athens with Bro. Darren Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Susie passed away October 20, 2017.

Susie Marquez Scott was born April 28, 1964 the daughter of Manuel Costello Marquez and Agustina Cervantes Marquez. She was a member of the Faith Church and active in the Yada Yada Sisters Ladies group at the Church. Her life was centered around her family, especially her children and grandbabies. Known for her cooking and making salsa, Sunday’s were special with her around; watching her Dallas Cowboys. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and great aunt who will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Costello Marquez and Agustina Cervantes Marquez; her brother Juan “Johnny” Lopez; one sister Maria Martinez; and niece Christina Gonzalez.

She is survived by loving husband Terry Scott of Athens; two daughters, Heather Marie Bertholf and husband Jeremy of Austin, Jessica Rose Lankford of Long Beach, California; five siblings, Hermania “Minnie” Orozco of Athens, Manuel “Jr.” Marquez and wife Angie of Athens, David Marquez and wife Tammy of Athens, Rosie Skiles and husband Jimmy of Gatesville, Janette Marquez of Athens; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Cambria Bertholf; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Abby Nicole Dunn and her loving puppy Prince.

Pallbearers will be Keith Marquez, Paul Marquez, Matthew Marquez, Daniel Marquez, Eric Marquez, Gabriel Bertholf and Cameron Houston.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
