Athens – Funeral services for Joey Bell, 51, of Athens will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Troy Hollingsworth officiating.

Mr. Bell passed away January 22, 2018 in Athens, Texas.

Joey Dwain Bell was born September 25, 1966 in Dallas, Texas the son of Dwain Allen Bell and Betty Jo Eskridge Bell. He was a member of the Gateway Assembly of God Church and loved reading his bible with his wife. He was a truckdriver for E&A Construction and loved seeing the countryside. His love was music, playing guitar, harmonica, keyboard or singing. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and going to the beach. He loved his family and will be missed by all he knew.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Devin Bell of Athens; mother Betty Pierce of Cross Roads; ten children, Marissa Bell of Palestine, Sarah Bell of Corsicana, Kirby Bell and Toby Bell of Van, Lexi Bell of Athens, Joley Bell and Emma Bell of Van, David “Bear” Bell, Jayde Bell and Jaxon Bell all of Athens; four grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
